America's Retail History Series

On the heels of several recent MARSH SUPER MARKETS closing here in the state of Indiana, it seems the perfect time to examine the role of supermarkets in shaping this America that we're growing not to love so much (at least from these urban food deserts emerging here in its cities). Its sort of amazing how we don't really consider the origins of a thing until something devastating happens and we are forced to...

Its time we learn about how some of the key players that we depend on (for our  health & well being essentially) have come to be as we explore the past & future of food security here in America.

While Marsh seems a good place to start locally, and indeed it is very interesting...the picture is bigger and requires a much greater scope.

Our way of living now requires our investigation if we are to best decide the best path forward in our food future.

Food is culture. Essentially we will uncover the keepers of American culture. The interconnections are alarming and serve to wake up the whole of humanity as to the invisible hand that's in control of your daily bread.

We are witnessing the liquidation and consolidation of America.
